Have you ever wondered if someone from another place in
space came to Earth and mated with the human race? There is much scholarly speculation that is
becoming increasing acceptable even in respected scientific studies, that this
may have happened sometime during the history of mankind. I am not pro or con on this wildly offbeat idea. I'm just presenting the evidence as I
research it. You will have to draw your own conclusions about this
mysterious possibility.
Through the years, as a wannabe scholar, I have read the
Book of Enoch, suggested by some to be an authentic lost book of the Bible, and
denied by others as a fictional document.
There are, however, references to the work in King James Version
scripture. Two examples:
Hebrews 11:5 - By faith Enoch was translated that he should
not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before
his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Jude 1:14 - 15 And
Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the
Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, to execute judgment upon all, and
to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which
they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly
sinners have spoken against him.
The above scriptures are from the KJV Bible and are in the
accepted canon of scriptures used by Christians.
Following are quotes from the Book of Enoch, a hotly
disputed "lost book" which was found among the Dead Sea Scrolls. In my humble opinion, there is a possibility
that the Book of Enoch should be canonical.
I reserve the right to be wrong.
Reading the Book of Enoch filled in a lot of the blanks I had in my mind
concerning the beginning of time on the Earth when men, women, giants, and
angels seem to be connected in some bizarre. way. Below is text from the Book of Enoch, Chapter
I.
9 And behold! He cometh with ten thousands of His holy ones
To execute judgement upon all,
And to destroy all the ungodly:
And to convict all flesh
Of all the works of their ungodliness which they have
ungodly committed,
And of all the hard things which ungodly sinners have spoken
against Him.
(This is basically identical to the verses in the KJV Book
of Jude quoted earlier in this blog).
Another textual reference from the KJV Bible gives some
enlightenment about the topic:
Genesis 6: 1-4
1 And it came to
pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were
born unto them,
2 That the sons of
God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of
all which they chose.
3 And the LORD said,
My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his
days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
4 There were giants
in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in
unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became
mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
The text below is from the disputed Book of Enoch:
1 And it came to pass when the children of men had
multiplied that in those days were born unto
2 them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of
the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let us
choose us wives from among the children of men
3 and beget us children.' And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto
them: 'I fear ye will not 4 indeed agree
to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.' And
they all answered him and said: 'Let us all swear an oath, and all bind
ourselves by mutual imprecations 5 not
to abandon this plan but to do this thing.' Then sware they all together and
bound themselves 6 by mutual
imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the
days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon,
because they had sworn 7 and bound
themselves by mutual imprecations upon it. And these are the names of their
leaders: Samlazaz, their leader, Araklba, Rameel, Kokablel, Tamlel, Ramlel,
Danel, Ezeqeel, Baraqijal, 8 Asael,
Armaros, Batarel, Ananel, Zaqiel, Samsapeel, Satarel, Turel, Jomjael, Sariel.
These are their chiefs of tens.
[Chapter 7]
1 And all the others
together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one,
and they began to go in unto them and to defile themselves with them, and they
taught them charms 2 and enchantments,
and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants. And they 3 became pregnant, and they bare great
giants, whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed 4 all the acquisitions of men. And when men
could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against 5 them and devoured mankind. And they began
to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and 6 fish, and to devour one another's flesh,
and drink the blood. Then the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones.
(Commentary from Wikipedia)
In the Book of Enoch,
Mount Hermon is the place where the Grigori ("Watcher") class of
fallen angels descended to Earth. They swore upon the mountain that they would
take wives among the daughters of men and take mutual imprecation for their sin
(Enoch 6).
Various Temples of Mount Hermon can be found in villages on
the slopes. There is a sacred building made of hewn blocks of stone on summit
of Mount Hermon. Known as Qasr Antar, it is the highest temple of the ancient
world and was documented by Sir Charles Warren in 1869. An inscription on a
limestone stele recovered by Warren from Qasr Antar was translated . . . to
read "According to the command of the greatest a(nd) Holy God, those who
take an oath (proceed) from here." Nickelsburg connected the inscription
with oath taken by the angels under Semjaza who took an oath together, bound by
a curse in order to take wives in the Book of Enoch (1 Enoch 6:6).
I find this entire subject more than intriguing, I find it
riveting as a wannabe scholar.
